Our standards
The questions readers ask us most, answered.
Where do your stories come from?
Every story rests on at least one published report. Our features list their sources at the end.
How do you decide who is in the news?
PersonNews carries every entry in the daily record that names a person, filed under the people it names. The person of the day is the one named in the weightiest stories and looked up by the most readers. The most-read list counts readers of English Wikipedia; In memoriam follows Wikipedia’s list of notable deaths.
Who writes them?
Features are written for PersonNews under their author’s name and approved by the editor before they appear. Short news entries are not signed.
Can I pay to be featured?
No. PersonNews carries no advertising, sponsored profiles or affiliate links, and we accept no payment, gifts or favours for coverage.
What if you get something wrong?
We correct it as soon as we know. An updated feature shows the date of the change.
